  • Brian

    General Manager

    Brian (BG) is a veteran in the food and bev industry. He previously worked as the bar manager at Wax Bar and Ollie Food and Spirits and as the executive chef at Corner Brewery. He’s our resident punk dude, always quirky, positive, and personable. He is a wizard in the kitchen, the mastermind behind all the lunch and brunch specials. He only eats one meal per day and loves ice cream, pizza, yogurt, and White Claw.

  • Matthew

    Bakery Assistant

    Matt is a native Ann Arborite and you will often run into him meandering around town on his bike. He is a DJ (MKO) and a freelance 3D generalist, but in the kitchen he is the “bread man.” Thousands of milk bread buns are made by his hands and those perfectly pleated breakfast galettes are thanks to him as well. Ask him about video games or about his amazing trips to Japan.

  • Maggie

    Bakery Assistant

    Maggie goes way back as an employee of Milk + Honey (the business before it was Q). She works part time as a nurse for her “day job" and full time as a toddler mom. She is the scaling master, helping with a ton of prep early on in the week to set us up for success. Her favorite pastry is our veg breakfast galette! Nature, quality time with loved ones, crafting, biking, and learning new things bring her joy.

  • Hawa

    Storefront Assistant

    Hawa is the gal you likely see the most, working our counter from Thursday-Sunday each week! She is our exclusive storefront person and makes sure everyone gets the pastries and products they want.

  • Laura

    Bakery Assistant

    Laura comes from a longtime BOH manager position at Zingerman's Deli (19 years!) and has a passion for people, process improvement, and great food. She is a super-eager-under-qualified home DIYer (ask her about restoring doors!) and competes in olympic weightlifting. She helps out with all the things and her favorite item is the breakfast galette! Outside of work you'll find her walking her adorable dog, Carly.

    Bakery Assistant

    Lydia is a jack of all trades but mostly focuses on savory prep. They spend most time with family, loving good food, the outdoors, and tabletop/trivia games. They are a fiber arts enthusiast, collector of hobbies, and passionate about local food, bread, and all things dairy.

    Owner

    Rachel is the owner of Q and mostly does payroll work from afar. She loves baking, cooking, and food science, and spends a lot of time thinking of new bakes and recipe testing them. Outside of that, she enjoys walks and anything creative in nature. She lives in Royal Oak with her husband and two young kiddos.
